| Victoria Babu is a familiar
voice in St. Louis. The broadcasting veteran is
part of the Big 550 KTRS team and can be heard hosting her own health and fitness program, Body by Babu, every Saturday
from 4-5 p.m.
You can see Victoria on CCIN's “Get Hooked on Health”
every Wednesday through Friday at 9:30 p.m. on Channels
8 and 3 on Charter Cable and again at 7:00 p.m. and
9:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.
As a certified personal trainer and wellness corporate consultant, Victoria is thrilled to marry her passion for
fitness with her love of broadcasting. It is her hope
to help make St. Louis one of the country’s healthiest
cities!
Victoria’s extensive clientele includes teens, adults and those suffering from an eating disorder. She is on staff at the Wildwood Family YMCA. As a lifetime member of Weight Watchers,
Victoria can relate to the yo-yo dieter! She also understands
the psyche of the “weekend warrior.”
COMPETITIONS
Currently, she's in training for the St. Louis half-marathon April 9th, a couple of local triathlons and Escape from Alcatraz, June 4th in San Francisco, rated the number one triathlon in the world for it's grueling and challenging course.
She’s
competed in several local sprint-distance triathlons
and two Olympic-distance triathlons in Florida and California
while raising money for the Leukemia Society. Also,
she has run in the St. Louis and Chicago Marathons and
participated in several half-marathons. Victoria also
enjoys golf and loves playing in charity tournaments.

BROADCASTING
Aside from her radio and television health shows, Victoria hosts two other Saturday programs on KTRS; Purina's Animal Advice and Simmons-Cooper's The Law in Your Life.
Her freelance work includes hosting an
award-winning magazine show for the Veteran’s
Administration and serving as spokesperson in adfomercials for
Charter Communications and emceeing corporate and public events.
Victoria’s background
in documentary work has led to running her own production
company. In the summer of 2004, Victoria traveled to Russia and
Ukraine to profile area YMCA teens as part of a cultural exchange
on behalf of the Greater St. Louis YMCA. The half-hour documentary of their journey
aired on Charter Cable in December 2004.
For nine years, Victoria woke St. Louisans with
the first news of the day as morning television anchor
and co-host at KTVI FOX 2. An Emmy nominee several times,
Victoria won a regional Emmy for outstanding news anchor
during her tenure as morning anchor at FOX 2. Before
that, she covered breaking news as a reporter for KSDK
NewsChannel 5.
Victoria’s broadcasting career began as a teen
in radio in her hometown of Springfield, Illinois. Television
news anchor jobs followed in Cape Girardeau, Missouri
and Greensboro, North Carolina before arriving in St.
Louis.
COMMUNITY INTERESTS
She is active in the Orthodox Christian community and helps out with many charities including the American Heart Association, SHARE, ALIVE
and she serves on the board of directors of the Asthma &
Allergy Foundation.
Victoria and her husband David celebrate 23 years of marriage in '06 and keep busy with their two teenaged daughters. |
